Adding the FollowMePrint Printer Queue to a Computer

In order to better track our printer resources (toner and paper), the district has implemented monitored printer queues.  Because of this monitoring, each person that logs into a computer will have to set up access to the printers individually.  Please follow the directions below to gain access to the "FollowMePrint" printer queue.

  1. Login to a classroom computer using your normal username and password.
  2. Click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner:
  3. Type:
    \\papercut
    then press ENTER
NOTE: as you begin typing the "search box will appear"
  4. This will bring up a new window with all of the printers in the district on our print queue monitoring system:
  5. Locate the "FollowMePrint" icon from the list you see and double-click on it.
  6. This will install the printer under your name and you will be able to send print jobs to it.
  7. When sending print jobs to the "FollowMePrint" printer you will do the following:
    • Once you have sent your print job to the "FollowMePrint" printer you can go to ANY of the printer/copiers located within our school offices that have a "badge reader"
    • Once you come to the copier/printer swipe your ID badge over the sensor
    • After you have swiped your badge you should see your username on the screen indicating you are logged into the copier
    • From this screen, you should see a button that says "Release Print"
    • Hitting this button will show you any print jobs you have sent
    • From this point, you can "release" the print job (or jobs) to get your copies.
NOTE: this process ONLY needs to be done once for each user.  Once this has been done the printer will be available any time you log in to the computer.  If you use multiple computers the process will have to be repeated on each computer that is used.
