Google Classroom Connection Timeout

If you are having problems connecting to Google Classroom or Google docs please attempt the following.

On a Chromebook:

  1. Check the wireless icon on the bottom of the screen to see if it is connected and try turning the wifi off and then back on again. Attempt to reach the desired page.
  2. While logged in go to settings icon (little gear) located after clicking on the bottom right of the screen. After clicking on the settings icon scroll down and click on show advanced settings. Under the privacy, section click on clear browsing data. A new window will pop up on the drop down box choose "the beginning of time" and check all of the boxes. Once the boxes are checked click on clear browsing data and power down the Chromebook. Power the Chromebook back up and sign in an attempt to reach Google Classroom, Docs, ETC. 
  3. If still unable to reach the desired page please submit a tech request. 

On a Windows-based machine (desktop, laptop, tablet) 

  1. Check the wireless icon on the bottom of the screen to see if it is connected and try turning the wifi off and then back on again. Attempt to reach the desired page
  2. Check to see if your Chrome browser is up to date: Click on the 3 dots located at the top right corner click on help and then click on about chrome. This will launch a new tab and if your chrome needs to be updated it will now update after chrome has updated click relaunch and attempt to reach your desired pages.
  3. Clear Cache: From Chrome browser click on the 3 dots located in the top right corner then click on settings from the window that appears. This will open up a new tab. From this tab scroll down to advanced and click. Under the privacy and security section, you will see the option to clear browsing data. Click this option a new window will pop up. On this window click advanced and select all of the boxes from the drop down choose all the time. Then click on clear data. Restart your chrome browser and attempt to reach desired pages.
  4. If still unable to reach the desired page please submit a tech request.
